The Interconnectedness of Everything!

It's rare to have experiences that make you feel truly interconnected. Duality is generally a 'normal' way of life. Of course in spiritual terms non-duality requires us to consider that everything and everyone is universally one. That our personal self is just an illusion.

That's a big concept and I admit that whilst I can accept this in theory, I'm not sure that I will reach that level of awareness in this life.

But I did have an experience recently that made me ponder the interconnectedness that we have within humanity.

My absolute favourite event in my calendar is WOMADelaide. The "World Of Music And Dance" - in Adelaide.

I have enjoyed every WOMAD in Australia for more than 25 years with the exception of a two year hiatus throughout COVID.

I will admit that I love music (and dancing) and I have broad and eclectic music taste.

Over the second weekend of March I can get my 'fix' of the most wonderful music that comes to Adelaide from all corners of the world.

Over the years I have developed a deep emotional connection to this event along with gratitude and admiration for so many world class musicians that in some cases have escaped dire circumstances to share their story and their extraordinary talent.

Over just 4 nights and 3 days, I immerse myself in music that may be beautiful, haunting, uplifting, joyous, fun, mesmerising, moving, or elevating. These are authentic sounds from incredibly creative and dedicated beings.

My heart fills with love and happiness as I absorb these moments of pure interconnectedness.

And the audiences are largely any age and from all walks of life and I am so happy to observe a level of respect, diversity and support in the large crowds of festival goers.

WOMAD connects us to each other and reminds us of the richness of our humanity.

It helps me to accept that I am just part of an indistinguishable whole.

Hmmm...I might just be getting a little closer in my awareness of this 'non dualism' concept after all.
